마른 빵과 튀김 두 조각 그리고 빈 냄비가 있었습니다.

먹을 것이 없는데.. 냉장고를 열어 냄비가 보이면
음식이 있다는 느낌이 들어서 넣어놨어요..
더펠로우십이 준비한 푸드박스를 보자마자
안나 할머니는 아이처럼 울음을 터뜨렸습니다.
"이렇게 많은 음식을 먹었던 때가 있었는지 기억도 나지 않아요. 이제 더이상 굶지 않을 거란 걸 아니까 너무 너무 기뻐요."

가장 중요하고 필요한 것이 무엇인지 묻는다면

에티오피아에서는 굶주림과 폭력이 일상이었어요.
나의 두 아이들도 먹을 것이 없어 목숨을 잃었어요..
40년 전, 토바 할머니는 극심한 반유대주의와 빈곤에서 벗어나기 위해 몇 달에 걸쳐 에티오피아에서 이스라엘까지 걸어서 이동했습니다.
"더펠로우십의 도움으로 내 식탁에는 음식이 있어요. 그리고 테프를 준다는 건 나를 정말 생각하고, 필요한 게 무엇인지 안다는 거예요."

전쟁으로 1년 넘게 학교에 가지 못한 다리아가
새로운 학교를 다니게 되었다는 소식을 듣고

"우리가 살던 곳이 며칠 전 폭격으로 다 무너졌대요. 계속 그곳에 있었다면 우리는 어떻게 됐을까요..?"
